At its foundation is a single layer of hand nested calico pocket springs. Each spring moves independently, allowing the mattress to respond precisely to changes in weight and movement. In the 150 by 200 centimeter size, 1,326 vanadium steel pocket springs provide consistent support and detailed body contouring.
The upholstery begins with bonded British fleece wool and cotton, creating a resilient natural foundation. Horsehair adds spring, ventilation, and durability, helping the mattress respond to the body while maintaining its comfort over time.
A final blend of British fleece wool and cotton provides breathable cushioning close to the sleep surface. Wool helps regulate temperature and moisture naturally, while cotton contributes softness, strength, and airflow.
The Herald Superb is secured by hand with traditional tufting and felt washers, then finished with two rows of hand side stitching. Protective wool reinforces the mattress borders, while air vents encourage circulation throughout its natural upholstery.
