At its foundation is one layer of hand nested calico pocket springs. Each spring moves independently, allowing the mattress to respond to changes in weight and movement across the sleep surface. In King size, 2,058 vanadium steel pocket springs work together to provide detailed contouring and consistent support.
Above the springs, layers of bonded British fleece wool and cotton, British fleece wool, and blended British fleece wool and cotton create breathable cushioning. Wool provides natural resilience and temperature regulation, while cotton introduces softness and ventilation.
The upholstery is secured with hand tufting and felt washers to help maintain the structure of the mattress. Two rows of hand side stitching reinforce the borders, creating a more supportive and consistent sleeping surface toward the edge.
